Full professor at the University of Bucharest since 1999, Director of the Centre of Catalysis and Catalytic Processes. His accumulated expertise in inorganic and catalysts syntheses, environmental catalysis, catalytic processes (hydrogenation, oxidation, environmental catalysis, catalysis on membranes, catalysis in ionic liquids, valorisation of biomass, plasma coupled with catalysts) and catalysts characterization is reflected to over 400 scientific papers cited more the 11500 times, 29 patents, 25 book chapters and 10 books. He has an h index of 49. Over the years he received the “Nicolae Teclu” Award of The Romanian Academy (1990) and „Grigore Moisil“ Award for exact sciences of the National Grand Lodge of Romania (2015) and was Proclaimed Knight of the National Order for Merit by the Romanian President (2008). At the present he serves as Member of several Editorial Boards Applied Catalysis A General; FI= 4.63, since 2010, Applied Catalysis B Environmental; Fi=14.23, since 2012, ChemCatChem; FI= 4.50, since 2017, Chemistry, MDPI; Fi-, since 2019, Chemistry Proceedings, MDPI; Fi-, since 2020, is Associate Editor: Frontiers in Green and Environmental Chemistry, Fi-3.78, since 2012.
